Vrinda rejects resolution

Staff Correspondent

Udupi: The Sugunendra Tirtha Bhakta Vrinda has said that it rejected the unanimous decision of the scholars (“vidvamsas”) meet at the Sri Krishna Math/temple on January 12, which had urged Sugunendra Tirtha Swamiji of Puttige Math to desist from the worship of Lord Krishna at the Sri Krishna Math/temple and from ascending the “Sarvajna Peetha”.

In a press release issued here, the Bhakta Vrinda said that the Puttige seer had not been invited to attend the meet.

The invitation to attend the meet reached the seer only after the meet had completed its deliberations.

Meanwhile, the Vishwesha Tirtha Bhakta Vrinda urged Sugunendra Tirtha Swamiji to just run the administration of the Paryaya. He should not ascend the Paryaya Peetha and worship Lord Krishna. “He should not hurt the feelings of the devotees,” it said. It refuted the charge that the swamiji had not been invited to the meeting.
