Constable sustains bullet injury

NEW DELHI: A woman constable sustained a bullet injury in her foot when the firearm of an assistant sub-inspector accidentally went off at Shalimar Bagh here on Monday.

The incident took place around 8-30 a.m. when ASI Tejpal Singh came to the Shalimar Bagh police station to relieve the duty officer. He was checking a 9 mm pistol when the weapon went off, inflicting injury in the right toe of Rajni.

Rajni was at the reception along with the duty officer receiving complaints. She was taken to Saroj Hospital in Rohini and the bullet was removed through surgery.
