Young couple, children die of asphyxiation

NEW DELHI: A young couple and their two children died of asphyxiation after a fire broke out in their building at Dakshinpuri here in the early hours of Monday.

According to the Delhi Fire Service, the fire broke out around 1 a.m. on the second floor of the building. At that time, Prem (32), his wife Usha (30), daughter Tannu (11) and son Handa (10) were sleeping on the third floor. His elder brother was on the ground floor, whereas his parents were on the first floor.

Some family guests who were on the second floor of the building managed to escape before the blaze engulfed the rooms.
