BANGALORE: The Sankranti gift of the Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) to consumers of Bangalore Electricity Supply Company in terms of tariff reduction might not come through. This is because BESCOM is expected to challenge the State Power regulator’s tariff order in which it has reduced the tariff much against the increase proposed by the electricity supply company. According to sources in the power sector, the top officials concerned were likely to discuss the issue on Wednesday and arrive at a formal decision to challenge the KERC’s order.
