This Day That Age
The view that India and Britain should give a lead to the world by renouncing armed strength has been expressed by Acharya Vinoba Bhave, Bhoodan leader. He told Mr. Horace Alexander, British Quaker and friend of Mahatma Gandhi, at his Akkialur camp in Dharwar district yesterday, that of all nations of the world only Britain and India were capable of taking this bold step, which was the need of the hour. Such a step, he was sure, would go a long way in achieving world peace and disarmament. Explaining his viewpoint, Vinobaji said that though Britain was considered a second rate power, it had moral force which many nations lacked.
