Arun Chakravarthy assumes office

First day: Superintendent of Police Arun Chakravarthy in Bijapur on Wednesday.

BIJAPUR: Superintendent of Police Arun Chakravarthy, who was transferred from Shimoga, assumed office here on Wednesday.

Mr. Chakravarthy, an IPS office of 1995 batch, succeeds S. Murugan, who has now been transferred to Shimoga.

Additional Superintendent of Police B.S. Marturkar, who served as in-charge Superintendent of Police ever since the transfer of Mr. Murugan in the first week of this month, handed over the charge to Mr. Chakravarthy. Later, Mr. Chakravarthy held an introductory meeting with police officials of the district.
