ALAPPUZHA: The District Congress Committee has launched an agitation against the government alleging that traditional coir industry and workers in the sector are being neglected by the Left Democratic Front. Inaugurating a march to the Coir Corporation office here on Wednesday, DCC president A.A. Shukoor came down heavily on the LDF government, particularly on Coir Minister G. Sudhakaran, for ‘failure to do away with the depot system and intermediaries who were fleecing small-scale coir manufacturing units in the district.’
