Bangalore: The Government has constituted selection committees for various State awards for excellence in the field of arts. Some of the important names that figure in the list include literary critic G.S. Amur; poet K.S. Nisar Ahmed; the former Minister B.T. Lalitha Naik; theatre person Enagi Balappa; and musician Velur G. Ramabhadran. According to a release, the following will be chairpersons for the award committees: Pampa Prashasti (Mr. Amur); Janapada Shree (Ishwarappa Guppa Angadi); Dana Chintamani Prashasti (Ms. Lalitha Naik); Kanaka-Purandara Prashasti (V. Ramarathnam); Basava Puraskara (Mr. Nisar Ahmed); Jakanachari Prashasti (B.N. Chennappacharya); Gubbi Veeranna Prashasti (Mr. Enagi Balappa); T. Chowdiah Prashasti (Mr. Vellur G. Ramabhadran); Shantala Natya Prashasti (K.B. Madhav Rao); Varna Shilpi Venkatappa Prashasti (B.K. Hubli Belgaum); and Santa Shishunala Sharief Prashasti (C.K. Tara). Filmmaker and writer Baragur Ramachandrappa has been appointed for the committee set up to monitor remake films.
