Vedanta plans steel foray

MUMBAI: Vedanta Resources on Wednesday announced that it plans to make foray into the steel sector by setting up a 10 million tonne steel plant in Orissa, and invest Rs. 50,000 crore to ramp up its mining and metals production capacity this year. The plant would be set up through an equal joint venture, Vedanta group Chairman, Anil Agarwal, told reporters here.
