Ashoka FC wins title

MYSORE: Ashoka FC maintained a clean slate by winning all its three matches in the semifinal super league (nine points) to emerge MDFA ‘B’ division league champion here on Wednesday.

In its final semifinal super league tie, it beat Railway South FC 4-2 to clinch the title.

Two goals each by Deepal (36th and 42nd) and Pramod (39th and 51st) helped Ashoka FC come back from behind.

Samuel (28th) and Raju (31st) scored for the loser.

Town Sports Club (Bannur), with six points, finished the runner-up. Both Ashoka FC and Town FC will be promoted to the ‘A’ division.

Earlier on Tuesday, a hat-trick by Atmique Ahmed and one goal by Irfan Ahmed helped Town FC register a 4-0 win over Railway Institute (VV).
