Prahlad CC in semifinals
TIRUCHI: N.P. Balaji and Ajay Pothen scored half-centuries as Prahlad CC defeated NIT by 97 runs and booked a place in the semifinals of the State-level invitation cricket tournament, for the RKV Cup, here on Wednesday.
The scores (quarterfinals): RKV 51 in 18.1 overs (J. Madanakumar four for 18) lost to Urumu Dhanalakshmi College 53 for two in 7.5 overs.
Prahlad 224 for six in 30 overs (N.P. Balaji 88, Ajay Pothen 73) bt NIT 127 in 28.2 overs.
Pre-quarterfinals: Dolphin 170 for nine in 26 overs (Alex 57 n.o., S. Ramesh five for 32) lost to RKV 171 for seven in 29.1 overs (Baskar Chakravarthy 45).
NIT 166 for 22 overs (M. Vinoth 73) bt OFT 63 for eight in 13.4 overs (M. Vinoth four for 17). — Sports Reporter
