105 beneficiaries shown borders of the land they received under the Ceiling Act 4,800 pending issues have been recognised by 37 para-legals in 14 villages SANGAREDDY: The para-legals of the Land Cell (Land rights and Legal Assistance Centre) that works under the District Rural Development Agency DRDA have helped P. Sailu of Bardipur of Tekmal mandal to get pattadar pass book which he has been trying to obtain from the mandal revenue officer since 22 years. Similarly 105 beneficiaries were shown the borders of the land they received under the Ceiling Act in Bandapothugal of Kowdipally mandal which was pending since 2004. Legal heirs got their certificates in Jhansilingapur and Naskal villages thanks to the para-legals from the Land cell. These were few of the 650 land related issues solved by the newly constituted Land Cell in line with the recommendations of Koneru Rangarao Commission in Medak district. Speaking to The Hindu the DRDA project director M. Srinivas Babu said that the Land cell was established to provide clear land title to the poor so that they enjoy full rights of the asset. The DRDA has started a pilot project in Gangaram, Mahmadpur, Mallepally, Munidevnipally and Gollapally of Kondapur mandal. Later the project was extended to 14 villages. In all 4,800 pending issues have been recognised by 37 para-legals in 14 villages. The Legal cell which works directly under the PD of DRDA has para-legals, surveyors, mandal and village-level legal committees to identify pending land related issues and help the villagers. Pat for Medak cellThe Land Cell District project manager Nagesh said that the cell has designed a docket sheet for each case so that para-legals could keep track of the proceeding with the concerned MRO. Each case would be given a specific number and details of the outcome would be entered into a computer. The Land Cell also deals with land purchase issues under the Indira Kranthipatham and houses a plethora of legal books for the para legals for reference. The models designed by the Medak Land cell have been appreciated by the State Government and were recommended for implementation elsewhere.
