Free dental camp for students
Staff Reporter
CHENNAI: About 2,300 students of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Ashok Nagar, were screened at a three-day free dental camp organised recently by the State Bank Retired and Serving Employees’ Forum.
Inaugurated by chief manager of State Bank of India (Ashok Nagar branch) M. Nirubanathan, the camp had students of class six to Plus One screened by a team of 12 doctors led by U. Arulmozhi of Meenakshi Ammal Dental College and Hospital.
Treatment cards
While students identified with irregular teeth alignment were advised to undergo orthodontic treatment, free treatment cards were distributed to those students screened with various dental problems.
The forum’s secretary, R. Mohanakrishnan, spoke about the importance of regular health checkups for early detection of diseases and healthy life.
The camp was organised as part of the forum’s social service activities, according to a press release.
