In animated talk: TDP president N.Chandrababu Naidu in a discussion with party leaders Y. Ramakrishnudu and T. Devender Goud in Hyderabad on Wednesday. HYDERABAD: The Telugu Desam Party is gearing up to hold “BC Garjana”, described as the biggest rally after the “Rythu garjana” in Vijayawada, at Warangal on January 23. Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday after a meeting with the party president, N. Chandrababu Naidu, where arrangements for the rally were reviewed, senior leader Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said the party was making all the efforts needed to make the rally “a huge success.” Significantly, senior leader T. Devender Goud, whose comments on the party’s stand on Telangana kicked up a row, participated in the meeting and is believed to have given several suggestions for the successful conduct of the rally. Mr. Ramakrishnudu said the rally would focus on exposing the Government’s anti-Backward Class stand as reflected in the cut in the budget allocation, denial of scholarship amounts and other facilities to hostel students. To a question, he said while Mr. Goud would be the overall convenor of the rally, he was the chairman of the planning committee. The committee was preparing the party’s policy to be adopted towards Backward Class welfare if it returns to power. This would be announced at the rally. Asked about the differences within the party over Telangana, Mr. Ramakrishnudu said all issues have been resolved. “It is a closed chapter now.” Others who addressed the press conference were Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Alladi P. Rajkumar, P. Yadagiri, P. Chandrasekhar and M. Narsimhulu.
