Two boys drown

Coimbatore: Two boys from Coimbatorewere drowned in the Bhavani river on Wednesday evening.

According to the police, M. Veerasundar (15), son of a vegetable vendor Mahalingam, and his relative Nagaraj, along with his son Selvakumar (15), had gone to the Badrakaliamman Temple in Mettuppalayam to celebrate Pongal. The two boys, studying in Standard X in a school in North Coimbatore, had gone to the river to take a bath.

The Mettuppalayam Police are investigating. — Staff Reporter
