Court criticises police

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thiruvananthapuram Principal Sessions Judge K. Ramkrishnan on Wednesday criticised the Kovalam Police for misleading the court regarding the arrest of Ajithkumar, 39, in connection with a financial fraud on a German tourist.

Based on police reports, Public Prosecutor A. Rajasenan told the court that there was no case or arrest recorded against the accused when his plea for anticipatory bail appeared before the court on Monday.

However, on Tuesday the police sent a report that the accused was arrested on January 12 and a case registered on January 8.
