BANGALORE: The Railway police are still groping in the dark to trace the armed robbers who attacked a passenger of Mysore-Bangalore passenger train and robbed her of a mobile phone on Tuesday. The panicky woman jumped off the moving train along with her two children, sustaining a head injury. However, it has come to light that taking a free ride up to Yeshwanthpur railway station by train cost dearly for Rasheeda of Ramanagara. Rasheeda was travelling with her daughter Nisha Begum (13) and son Mohammed Haneef (11) by the train on Tuesday afternoon. The service of the train ended after it reached the city station. But Rasheeda, who was aware that the train would halt at the Yeshwanthapur station, continued her journey by the almost deserted train. After the train had moved past Kirloskar level-crossing, between the City Station and Yeshwantpur, four men tried to rob Rasheeda of her bag and jewellery but could get only her mobile phone. Deputy Superintendent of Police (Railways) Krishnappa told The Hindu on Wednesday that they police were still clueless about the robbers. The other passengers in the coach were a eunuch and a few men.
