BANGALORE: C.N.R. Rao, National Research Professor and Honorary President of Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore, has been elected distinguished Research Professor of Materials by the University of Cambridge. He has also been declared Laureate of the Khwarizmi International Award by the Government of Iran. A letter from the Iranian Government said the award was “the result of his dedication, excellence and sustained hard work in the field of research”. It will be presented to him in February by the President of Iran. — Staff Reporter
