KIET gears up for technical fiesta

Over 3,000 students to take part
|
Kakinada: The Kakinada Institute of Engineering and Technology (KIET) is organizing a national-level technical fiesta CONCOURS – 2008 at Rangaraya Medical College auditorium here from January 24 to 27.
More than 3,000 students from 240 engineering colleges are expected to take part in the event, which is the biggest one of its kind after the just concluded Indian Science Congress, KIET placement officer Y. Ramakrishna, Head of Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering P. Hemant Kumar and Head of Department of Computer Science B. Varaprasada Rao told reporters here on Thursday.
The four-day event has four themes namely ‘Women and IT’, ‘Microsoft and IT’, ‘SMEs and IT’ and ‘Academia and IT’.
About 600 technical papers were presented and 250 of them were short listed.
The participants will have an opportunity to share their knowledge and learn from peers and experts in the respective fields of IT and other branches of engineering. KIET’s website www.kietap.com can be logged into for more information.
