CHANDIGARH: Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator S.F. Rodrigues on Thursday visited the second Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT) here in Sector 43 and asked the senior officers of the Chandigarh Administration to install electronic boards giving information about the arrival and departure of the long route buses to different important destinations. He asked the officers to constantly review the progress of work on different components of the project and evolve a monitoring system for a periodical analysis of the services and make need-based additions for the convenience of the passengers. Accompanied by Chandigarh Union Territory Home Secretary Krishna Mohan, Finance Secretary Sanjay Kumar and senior officers of the Transport, Engineering and Architecture Departments, General Rodrigues went round the different spots and took stock of the facilities being provided. He asked the Home Secretary to convene a meeting with his counterparts in the Punjab and Haryana governments to evolve a responsive mechanism to harmonise the operational part of the bus services by different States under set rules and procedures without taking any arbitrary decisions on their own.
