Assam’s first woman MP dead

Jorhat: Assam’s first woman MP, Begum Mofida Ahmed, died here on Thursday of old-age ailments, her family members said. She was 88.

She was elected MP from the Jorhat constituency in 1957 on a Congress ticket — PTI
