Shimla: In the wake of heavy snowfall and fear of shifting of glaciers in Lahaul-Spiti district, all educational institutions in the area have been closed for four days from Friday. Cold wave conditions were intensified in the capital, which was lashed by rains since Wednesday evening. Shimla recorded 1.7 mm rain in the morning, met office sources said. The district administration through a notification ordered closure of all educational institutions in the district from January 18 to January 21, an official release said. The district administration advised citizens not to venture out of their homes. The condition was equally bad in Kinnaur district. Roads remained out of bounds for the commuters on Indo-Tibetan border . PTI
