High drama at RDO office

Correspondent

MAHABUBNAGAR: High drama has taken place at RDO office here on Thursday following the directions of first Additional District Judge to confiscate the properties of RDO office for failing to implement the Judgement of the court in paying additional compensation to a land owner, while the court personnel were confiscating the properties such as furniture and computers of RDO office, the High court in the evening granted ‘stay’ on lower court’s Judgement.

According RDO Satish Chander, the government acquired a land of 3 acre 37 guntas from one Neeladri Narayana under Thimmapoor grampanchayat of Kothoor mandal in 1998 to set up a filling station of Indian Oil Corporation. The Government fixed Rs. 2.1 lakh per acre at that time and paid the compensation to the landowner. Against the backdrop of real estate boom in Thimmapoor village, which is about 25 km away from Hyderabad, the landowner Neeladri Narayana approached the first additional district Judge (civil) for higher compensation. Subsequently, the ADJ Shiva Prasad passed a Judgement in last March to pay a compensation of Rs.156 per squire yard, which comes approximately Rs.8 lakh per acre. Meanwhile the RDO Mahabubnagar appealed to High Court in the month of July 2007. As there was delay in implementing the ADJ judgement, the petitioner Neeladri Narayana filed an execution petition (EP) urging to execute the Judgement of the court in ADJ court. Responding to it, the ADJ Shiva Prasad gave a direction on December 31 to confiscate the properties of RDO office for failing to pay compensation as per the court orders. With High Court’s intervention by granting ‘stay’ the confiscation of property of RDO office was suspended at late evening.
