Special package planned for BCs
HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh government is contemplating the idea of announcing a special package for the welfare of Backward Classes (BCs).
Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy constituted a Group of Ministers (GoM) to study the implementation of ongoing welfare and development programmes launched for the BCs.
The move comes in the light of increasing demand from BC organisations for enhancement of budget and other provisions for the communities.
The decision to constitute the GoM was announced by the Chief Minister after a meeting with Agriculture Minister N. Raghuveera Reddy on Thursday. The GoM would be headed by BC Welfare Minister M. Mukesh Goud while Mr. Raghuveera Reddy and Revenue Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao would be its members.
The panel would study issues like budgetary allocations being made for BCs.
