ULFA militant killed in gunfight in Arunachal Pradesh

Dibrugarh: A top ULFA militant was killed in a gunfight with the Army in Arunachal Pradesh along the Assam border. The self-styled corporal of the elite strike force ‘28 Battalion’ was killed at Kumari Gaon under Mahadevpur police station , defence officials said on Thursday.

On a tip-off that the militant was hiding in a house, the troops laid a trap, but he attempted to escape through the rear door firing at them.

They chased and gunned him down. A 9 mm pistol, a magazine and two live rounds of ammunition were recovered from him. — PTI
