All Star Trophy from tomorrow

CHENNAI: The 23rd annual floodlit basketball (men and women) tournament for the All Star Trophy will be held from January 19 to 27 at the Corporation grounds, Venkatnarayana Road, T. Nagar.

Thirty-one teams in the men’s section and nine in the women’s will take part in the tournament.

Some of the leading men’s teams including defending champion IOB, ICF, Indian Bank, Madras Customs, Southern Railway, BSNL Chennai Telephones, TNEB, Writer BC, CPT and Railway Employees Co-operative Credit SSC among others will be in the fray.

In the distaff side, Southern Railway, SRM Rising Star, IOB All Star and Madras Nationals BC will be participating.

The co-sponsors of the tournament are IOB, Naidu Hall Naihaa, The Hindu, Sportstar, Indian Bank, Nalli 100, L&T ECC Division, Sri Kumaran Stores, Penna Cements and J&J Limited. — Sports Reporter
