From Pakistan, artists Ghulam Rasul and Iqbal Hussain will also put their works up for auction. The auction will also include the work of 11-year-old artist Michelle. Work by noted artist Lalitha Lajmi who has recently been featured in a cameo role in Aamir Khan’s film ‘Taare Zameen Pe’ will also go under the hammer. In her message, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said: “It is a matter of great satisfaction that proceeds from the auctioned paintings would be donated for expansion of the activities of HelpAge India that is committed to serve the elderly population in the country.” Pointing out that funds raised through the auction will go towards improving the physical, mental and emotional condition of elderly fighting isolation, poverty and neglect, HelpAge India president Amal Ganguli says: “We want to make a positive impact on the lives of poor and disadvantaged elders. I thank all the artists who have so generously contributed their works of art in support of our cause.”
