Woman killed in road accident

CHENGAM: A woman was killed and her husband injured when a State-owned bus knocked down the two-wheeler they were riding at Melpuzhudiyur near Chengam on Thursday.

According to police, Madhavi (22) of Tokkavadi and Baskaran (30) were going to one of her relative’s house at Melpuzhudiyur when the bus coming towards Chengam knocked them down. Madhavi and Baskaran were married three months back.

Madhavi was killed on the spot and Baskaran was rushed to the Chengam Government Hospital. He was later referred to the Government Hospital in Chennai.
