Rock concert in city today

Staff Reporter

KOZHIKODE: They are here to rock once again. After 13 long years. 13 AD, one of the most popular rock bands to emerge from the country, will perform at the Gujarati School Auditorium here on Saturday night. The Kochi-based band, whose debut album ‘Ground Zero’ had created a sensation in 1990, had split in 1995.

“We had to disband the band due to personal reasons,” said George Peter, lead vocalist. “But a reunion had been there on our minds for the last four years, because people wanted to hear us again..”

If George is coming back to 13 AD after 13 years, Petro Correia, the drummer who played a key role in forming the band in 1977, is returning after 28 years. “I had started the band with some of my friends and we used to perform at a hotel in Kochi; then the band grew, as talented and energetic people like George joined us,” he recalled.
