KOLLAM: Bank employees and officers have decided to launch an indefinite strike from March end under the banner of the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) if their long-standing demands are not met by then. As a prelude to the indefinite strike, they will go on a nation-wide strike on January 25, February 25 and 26. In a statement here, UFBU convener M.M. Ansari said more than 10 lakh employees from public and private sector banks will join the strike. The demands include pension option, restoring the compassionate appointment scheme, pay revision, filling up of all vacancies, dropping outsourcing, among others. — Staff Reporter
