Law and order situation cause for concern: Krishnasswamy

Special Correspondent

Chennai: The law and order situation in Tamil Nadu is causing concern despite the State Government’s efforts to maintain it, Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president M. Krishnasswamy said here on Friday.

Addressing presspersons, Mr. Krishnasswamy congratulated the State police for arresting a Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam activist and seven Sri Lankan associates in Chennai on Thursday.

The Government should not hesitate to take stringent action against organisations openly canvassing support for the banned LTTE.

The party was for an amicable solution to the Tamils’ issue in the island nation through negotiations. But, it would not forgive the LTTE, which was behind the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi.
