This Day That Age
Asian countries which want to develop their power resources were advised by a meeting of world power experts in Bangkok to draw up a development policy. Forty-six electric power specialists from 17 countries attended the meeting of the Electric Power Sub-Committee of the Economic Commission for Asia and the Far East. The Sub-Committee called for special funds to carry out the collection and analysis of adequate data on theoretical, technical and economic aspects of the power potential. It also stressed the importance of training efficient personnel. The meeting was attended by representatives from Australia, Burma, Ceylon, Nationalist China, France, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaya, New Zealand, Pakistan, Thailand, Russia, Britain, the United States, Viet Nam, Singapore and British Borneo.
