Corrections and clarifications

*  Praful Patel is Civil Aviation Minister and not Civil Avian Minister (“Goa: Congress, NCP emissaries hold talks,” Page 1, January 18, 2008).

* The writer’s name is Nayantara Sahgal, and not Saghal (“Jaipur setting for fete,” Newscape, January 18, 2008).

* “In the wake of heavy snowfall and fear of shifting of glaciers in Lahaul-Spiti district, all educational institutions in the area have been closed for four days from Friday” (“Snowfall forces closure of schools,” Delhi, January 18, 2008). Glacier is an extremely large mass of ice, formed by accumulation and compaction of snow, which moves slowly. Avalanche would have been the appropriate word, which means flow of snow down a slope.
