State plea on Central forces

BHUBANESWAR: As normalcy was not yet fully restored in the violence affected Kandhamal district, the State Government has decided to request the Union Government to allow the Central forces stay in the district for a longer period.

State Home Secretary T.K. Mishra told presspersons here on Friday that he would take up the issue with the Union Home Department soon. The Centre had earlier agreed to keep the forces deployed in Kandhamal till January end, Mr. Mishra said.
