MCD to approach Supreme Court

NEW DELHI: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has decided to approach the Supreme Court to demand that the public be kept away from sites where demolition is being carried out.

At a meeting of the civic body on Friday, MCD Standing Committee Chairman Vijender Gupta said: “There have been cases where the public has vented their ire at civic body officials by beating them up. We are approaching the court to prevent any injury to MCD workers while they are carrying out their duty”.
