Youngster killed

Shailesh Kumar, 30, jumped to death from the sixth floor of the apartment building he was living in at Himayathnagar in the early hours of Friday, the Narayanguda police said.

Kumar was into different businesses, including share market transactions, had reportedly suffered losses. He was living in a rented flat with six other friends. Kumar returned from Kariminagar on Thursday midnight. “His friends counselled him as he appeared depressed,” the SI said. Around 2 a.m., they heard a thud. When they came out, Kumar was found lying on the ground in a pool of blood.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died.

Woman injured

A municipal worker G. Yadamma (45) sustained minor burns following an explosion at Harsha Mahal Colony in Bahadurpura on Friday. She was burning garbage after sweeping the roads in the afternoon. The Rajendranagar police said some low explosive material or firecracker in the garbage might have triggered the blast. She was treated as an outpatient at a private hospital.
