‘Overwhelmed by people’s response’

BANGALORE: The Janata Dal (S) president H.D. Deve Gowda said on Friday that he was overwhelmed by the response to the party meeting at Mulbagal in Kolar district.

He was speaking to presspersons on the sidelines of a function here to welcome a group of advocates into the party. Mr. Deve Gowda said that the tirade by the BJP and the Congress against the JD(S) had not worked, and people of Kolar district had told him that they were with him and his party. The former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy who made his first public appearance at the function after heart surgery said that by denying support to the BJP, the JD(S) had stopped the advance of communal forces in to south India.
