Facile victory for MJEC

HYDERABAD: Muffakam Jah Engineering College (MJEC) (Hyderabad) scored a nine-wicket win over TKR Engineering College (Hyderabad) in the final of the sixth SR Champions Trophy State-level inter-engineering colleges cricket tournament in Warangal on Friday. Special prizes were given to Rajesh and Ramana (best fielders), and Pankaj (best bowler), Abhishek Ponia (best batsman), Anirudh (player of the final), Gowtham Reddy (player of the series) and Santosh (best all-rounder).

The scores (final): TKR Engineering College (Hyd) 101 for nine (Anirudh four for 11) lost to MJEC (Hyd) 105 for one.

Third place: Dr. B.V. Raju IT (Medak) 125 for three (Ramana 40 not out) bt JBIT (Hyd) 102 for six.

Big win for SCRSA

SCRSA recorded a 224-run win over Syndicate Bank in the A-Division (three-day) knock-out cricket tournament here.

The scores: A-Division (three-day knock-out): SCRSA 431 for nine & 209 for two (Kalyan Krishna 80, Solomon Raj 59, R.A. Viswanath 50 not out) bt Syndicate Bank 229 & 187 for five (K. Sunil Naidu 50, Neeraj Bisht 49).

A-Division (one-day knock-out): BDL 334 for five (Bharat 152, Basheer 56, Yatin Reddy 43) bt Telangana 132.

Suresh outwits Banka

M. Suresh Krishna outwitted Saarthak Banka in the sub-junior boys’ second round of the Inter-schools chess tournament for Sardar Bhagatsingh Trophy organised by Anandnagar Welfare Association Sports Academy on its premises in Hyderabad.
