University of Kerala CSS examinations: The first semester postgraduate examinations (credit and semester) of the university (excluding those at the IMK, the departments of Futures Studies, Law and Education) will begin on January 25. B.Com. results: The results of the second semester B.Com. computer science (three main) examinations held in July 2007 have been published. Applications for revaluation and scrutiny can be submitted till February 18. The mark lists can be had from the respective centres. M.Ed. admission: Centralised counselling will be held for those who took part in the M.Ed. entrance examinations held in February 2007. The counselling will be held at the Palayam campus on January 30 and 31 and will be on the basis of the marks scored by a candidate in the qualifying and the entrance examinations. The counselling will be for admission to the following aided and self-financing training colleges: Government College of Teacher Education, Thiruvananthapuram; Mar Theophilus Training College, Thiruvananthapuram; NSS Training College, Pandalam; Karmala Rani Training College, Kollam; Mount Tabor Training College, Pathanapuram; Peet Memorial Training College, Mavelikara; and SNGM College, Thuravoor. Once the rank list is prepared, the admission memo will be sent to the selected students along with the option form. Examination centre: Sree Sankara Vidyapeedom College, Nagaroor, will not be a centre for the postgraduate (M.Com.) examinations beginning January 21. Students who have opted for this centre should get the hall ticket from NSS College, Nilamel, and write the examination there. Date extended: The last date for submitting applications for the certificate course in cinema and drama offered by the Centre for Performing and Visual Arts has been extended to January 31. Summer training: Students in the final semester M.Sc. physics/chemistry courses at the university can apply for the summer training programme offered by the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research at Kalpakam from May 26 to July 4. Those with a first class in the B.Sc. course and the first semester M.Sc. course can apply. For details, log on to www.igcar.gov.in. Seminar: The Department of Linguistics, in association with the Central Institute of Indian Languages, will organise an international seminar on ‘Globalisation and Malayalam language’ from February 19 to 21.
