Lalu the chef

Puri: Railway Minister Lalu Prasad donned the role of a chef on Friday, cooking a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes for his family at a guest house in this pilgrim town. Mr. Prasad, who is staying in a rest house with wife Rabri Devi, six daughters, son and son-in-law, cancelled a visit to the Chilika lake and told the cook at the guest house to go on leave for a day before heading for the kitchen, a senior Railway official said.

“Laluji, himself a vegetarian, ordered pomphret fish and prawns for his children,” the official said. While Rabri Devi spent time on the beach, the daughters helped their father to cook. Mr. Prasad prepared rice, dal, fish curry and prawns fry. There were also salad and sweets. — PTI
