Kochi: The All India Konkani Parishad conference will be held here from February 1 to 3. Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, reception committee working president P.N. Sivananda Shenoy said it was the 26th conference of the Parishad. He said around 1,000 delegates were expected to participate in the conference. Konkani was a minority language in many States except Goa. But Konkani did not get the privileges being given to other minority languages in all these States. The State government had not formulated any policy for promoting Konkani language, he said. The conference will be inaugurated by Goa Chief Minister Digambar V. Kamat at the Town Hall on February 1.
