Residents block traffic

OMALUR: Residents of Dasasamudram village blocked the traffic on Bangalore National Highways on Friday protesting against the alleged irregularities in the distribution of rice under the Public Distribution System.

They claimed that officials at the fair price shop in the village supplied only 15 kg of rice per family card instead of normal monthly quota of 20 kg. Theevattipatti police personnel pacified the agitators. The traffic on the road was affected for short period.
