PUDUCHERRY: Speakers at the South zonal conference of medical microbiologists stressed the need to improve the health of people by promoting excellence in diagnosis and preventing infection against the backdrop of bird flu and other infectious diseases. The Director of Vision Research Foundation, Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai, H. N Madhavan, inaugurated the conference at Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College and Hospital, Kalitheerthalkuppam, on Saturday.
