BJP workers will hold a demonstration here on Monday They will submit a memorandum to the district administration SHIMOGA: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) councillor S.N. Channabasappa has said that Governor Rameshwar Thakur has done great injustice to democracy by delaying the announcement of reservation to key posts in the municipal council although four months have elapsed after elections were held. Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, he said that the municipal administration had collapsed in the absence of an elected body. He said that basic civic amenities such as roads, water and cleanliness had been pushed to the back-burner owing to the delay. Mr. Channabasappa alleged that the Governor was acting as an “agent” of the Congress and added that he had done a great disservice to the Constitution. He said that though the elections to the State Assembly were imminent, there was still confusion regarding the finalisation of the electoral rolls. He said that the BJP workers would hold a demonstration here on Monday to protest against the “non governance” by the Governor. He said that they would take out a procession from the Ramanna Shetty Park to the Deputy Commissioner’s office where they would submit a memorandum to the district administration.
