KOLLAM: Raising the allegation that the government is ignoring the health sector and the Health Department, Health inspectors have decided to launch an agitation. The agitation will be under the banner of the All Kerala Health Inspectors Confederation. The decision was taken at a State leaders meeting of the confederation. Confederation convener Asramam P.R. Balagopal said that the organisation comprises the Kerala Health Inspectors Union, the Kerala State Health Inspectors Association and the All Kerala Qualified Health Inspectors Association. He alleged that the epidemic outburst in the State was the result of the health sector being ignored by the government. When it comes to sanctioning the rights and benefits of the Public Health workers, the government was taking a defying stand. Huge amounts of money meant for the health sector was being misused, he alleged. The department was alarmingly short of staff. The confederation also demanded promotions in time for the Health inspectors.
