YSR’s ‘gag order’ questioned

HYDERABAD: Telangana Regional Development Board chairman and senior Congress leader V. Purushottam Reddy has found fault with Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy for asking the party leaders from Telangana not to make their views on the separate statehood to Telangana public.

Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, Mr. Purushottam Reddy asked why the Chief Minister failed to prevent the leaders from other regions from airing their views on Telangana. Referring to the comments made by Dr. Reddy’s brother-in-law and Kadapa Mayor P. Ravindranath Reddy and Minister Mandali Buddhaprasad, he asserted that the remarks came at the instance of “someone who stands to gain by an integrated State.”

The Telangana Congressmen were asking the party leadership to accept the ‘justified’ demand for a separate State. The ‘leader should have the magnanimity’ to fulfil the aspirations of Telangana people who want to part ways.
