Special Correspondent
NAMAKKAL: State Lorry Owners Federation Tamil Nadu has asked the lorry owners in the State to stop plying lorries to Karnataka from January 20 midnight. A press release from its president P. Sengodan said that the lorry owners in Karnataka had been protesting against their State governments decision to install speed governors in their vehicles. As their efforts to sort out the issue had failed, the Karnataka State Lorry Owners Sammelan had called for an indefinite strike from January 20 midnight.
To support their strike call, Tamil Nadu Federation had asked the owners, drivers, booking agents and others concerning with freight not to ply lorries from Tamil Nadu to Karnataka from January 20 midnight.
