S.R.Ashok Kumar
CHENNAI: Three films made in Tamil Nadu have made their way into various film festivals abroad.
‘Thoovanam’ directed by Haricharan and Newton, and ‘My Dear Father’ and ‘Self Defence,’ both by Ganesh, will be screened at different festivals.
‘Thoovanam’ was released in Chennai a few months ago and got rave reviews.
It has been selected to be screened at the Byron Bay Film Festival, Australia. Director Haricharan says: “Byron Bay Film festival is a popular and prestigious film festival and we are happy to show our film at the festival.”
The camera was handled by national award winning cameraman Madhu Ambat. It is a love story between two people and has an interesting climax.
The film has newcomers Nethra, Aditya, Maurya and Tushara in the main roles. The music is composed by award-winning composer Isaac Thomas Kottukapally.
The other two films were directed by Ganesh (popularly known as Atlanta Ganesh).
