Nation-wide baseball quest

HYDERABAD: The nation-wide competitions to search for the fastest and powerful arm in India, being organised to identify and groom sportsmen for professional baseball, will be held in Hyderabad on Sunday at three locations between 10 a.m. and 5.30 p.m.The OU Cricket Ground, Hindu Mahavidyala Sports Grounds and Marredpally Corporation Grounds have been chosen for the competitions, the release said.

Contestants will have to throw a baseball at a minimum speed of 96.5 kmph or more in the first phase to qualify. The winner of the finals will be a contestant who throws the most strikes out of ten given chances with a speed of at least over 144 kmph, the release said.

The contestants have to be male and between 15 to 25 years.For details: 98113-22900/ 99873-2213
