Kozhikode: Abdulla Ali al Husni, director, International Relief and Charities, Red Crescent, UAE, will inaugurate the Kashmiri Bhavan at Markazu Ssaquafathi Ssunniyya (Sunni Cultural Centre) at Karanthur, near here, on Monday. The bhavan, built at a cost of Rs. 50 lakh, was for accommodating more than 200 Kashmiri boys for academic purposes. Their lives were at a crossroads owing to the strife in Kashmir. Markazu Ssaquafathi Ssunniyya general secretary Kanthapuram A.P. Aboobacker Myusliyar took custody of these children in 2004 following a request of the Jammu and Kashmir government. The Markazu Ssaquafathi Ssunniyya said in a release that the organisation was attempting to give them integrated education and make them responsible citizens of secular India. Industries Minister Elamaram Karim will inaugurate a handicrafts manufacturing training centre of Kashmiri children on the occasion. A meeting to be held later will be inaugurated by UAE Ambassador Abdulla Ibrahim al Soy al Sihi. Kanthapuram Musliyar will deliver the keynote address. Sayyid Fasal Shihab Jifri will preside. T.K. Hamza, MP, and others will speak.
